From Our FIRST Graduate from PNG
November 25, 2008 by tc2.
Tobias Nangunduo graduated from Penn View in 1996 as a ministerial student with a vision and a burden for his people. He writes, “I’m proud to be the first Papua New Guinean to attend PVBI and graduate with an Advanced Diploma in Ministerial Studies. I’m glad I had chosen Penn View Bible Institute over other Bible colleges in the USA. My life was truly influenced by many godly people during my stay at Penn View. I shall never forget that as long as I live.”![]()
After serving as an assistant and later as principal in a national Christian school, in 2005, he started the Institute of Christian Academy as an outreach into the homes of the inner city. Presently, his school has 769 registered students and he envisions 1,500 students within the next two years. Praise the Lord for Penn View graduates who have a vision and then make it a reality!

FALL WALK-A-THON
November 7, 2008 by tc2.
![]()
To help meet budget needs and special projects on campus, walk-a-thons are part of our campus activities. This Fall, Elementary, High School and Institute students joined by faculty and staff (a total of 217 walkers!) –along with sponsors– made this fund-raiser a success.
Laura Sprenkel (Elementary), Darren Durkee (High School) and Martin Handfield (Institute) collected the most amount of money in their respective divisions. We praise the Lord for this added income to help us during this first semester!

Fall Revival
October 17, 2008 by tc2.
![]()
Our annual fall revival was a time of real spiritual refreshment. Rev. Dwight Rine –associate pastor at the God’s Missionary Church in Lebanon, PA– was our evangelist. The Lord blessed in a special way during each service with relevant messages and enriching music. During the Friday morning service a great number of our young people
responded to an invitation after a pointed message on holiness.
We praise the Lord for the spiritual advance of each student.

HARVEST HOME: A Time of Praise
October 6, 2008 by tc2.
![]()
More than just a tradition, Harvest Home is always a time of reflection and thanksgiving. This year we enjoyed the piano renditions of Mr. Lucas Shrout our Penn View Director of Music. Performing songs from his new CD To the King as well as a special Thanksgiving arrangement, Mr. Shrout led us in an exhilarating concert of worship and praise.
The event theme was enhanced by some students who depicted a first Thanksgiving meal by dressing as Pilgrims and Indians.
Select staff and students beautifully decorated the tabernacle with a wonderful display of the food items donated to help provide quality meals for our school family.

Fall Benefit Banquet & Auction
October 3, 2008 by tc2.
LEBANON, PA – On the evening of September 27th, over 325 people gathered for a black bow-tie event of great food and wonderful fellowship in the activity center of the God’s Missionary Church in Lebanon, PA. Coordinated by Leonard Raub and Larry Shuey, this benefit banquet was a blessing to all.
Wholesome, beautiful entertainment provided by the Music Division of Penn View added to the evening event. The complimentary banquet meal –prepared by alumnus Dwight Rine– was followed by an auction coordinated by Leonard Raub. The participants enjoyed bidding on many items including those from the Ernie Peia estate.
Some who attended said: “I’ve never been to anything like this before!” They gave liberally to the benefit of Penn View. Personal invitations went out to many local business leaders and they too found the evening to be a unique experience. The total of the dinner donations and the auction income approached $14,000.
We give God all the praise and glory for what was accomplished for Penn View and His Kingdom in that one short evening. We encourage other churches or groups of churches to sponsor similar fund-raising events for Penn View. We would like to assist you in getting one set up to benefit our school. Thanks goes to the Lebanon God’s Missionary Church congregation for their hard work in preparation for this benefit event!

School of the Prophets
September 26, 2008 by tc2.
The Interchurch Holiness Convention’s annual School of the Prophets convened at Penn View Bible Institute, September 22-24, 2008, on the theme “I Will Build My Church.” Donald Myers and Barry Arnold captivated the evening crowds with the encouragement that Jesus Christ will build His Church. Robert Luther, Michael Williams, Leroy Adams, Larry Petit, and Darrell Stetler presented substantial papers, each followed by an insightful responder.
Luther challenged us to the balance between ministry and patriotism. Williams stretched us to consider how to communicate with postmodern listeners. Adams encouraged us to hold fast to the faith, even through decline, depression, and difficulty. Petit reminded us that we grow in community with other Christians.
Stetler drew our hearts together toward the purity required by Scripture and proclaimed by holiness churches. We are to build the church by leading people to the experience of a pure heart. Christians whose hearts are in harmony with God will have harmony with each other. In a second session, Stetler warned that we can lose our heritage at the “generational change points.” He urged us to plan carefully to pass the heritage on to our children. Leonard Sankey graciously wove the sessions together so that we had something to think about, something to pray about, and something to get busy doing!
Thank you to all who participated to make this a great event.

PVBI welcomes students back to campus
September 1, 2008 by tc2.
We are excited about the quality and quantity of students God has given us this year. We have 160 students in the academy and 88 in the college. This makes our total enrollment almost 250 students.
There are 16 states represented this year with Pennsylvania leading the way, followed by North Carolina, Ohio, and New York. There are 5 foreign countries also represented including Papua New Guinea, Canada, Northern Ireland, Turks & Caicos Islands, and Bolivia.
We are thankful for the diversity of conservative holiness denominations that are represented on our campus this year. Leading the way is God’s Missionary Church, followed by the Pilgrim Holiness Church of New York, the Pilgrim Nazarene Church, and the Tennessee Bible Methodist Church.

Taking first place with most majors is the Ministerial Division with 22 students under the direction of Rev. Jacob Martin, followed by the Missions Division with 20 students under the direction of Mr. Steven Mowery. Please keep Penn View in your prayers that God will continue to help us fulfill our mission of preparing young people for full-time Christian service.
