Lebanon Penn View Benefit Auction

This Saturday, October 23, The Lebanon Church is hosting a Penn View Benefit Auction in their Family Life Center.  The Proceeds from this auction come to Penn View.  Each year, students from Penn View go down to help serve dinner and clean up.  It is a successful event.  We are looking forward to this Saturday! God has blessed us through this auction and know he will continue to do so!

Midterms

If you came on campus this week, you would quickly find out that this week marks the middle of the term.  Students are very busy this week with the mid to end semester crunch.  The ease and carefree attitude of schoolwork is over and a serious attitude towards school will now take over the campus.  Students will be working hard to finish assignments for the given deadlines. This is the time in the semester when the students realize that they need to get moving and get motivated on their schoolwork. If past semesters have been any indication, the rest of this semester will fly by.

Walkathon 2010

Can you believe it is walkathon time again?? This Friday, the 22nd, is the annual walkathon.  Last years walkathon was a wonderful success and we are hoping this years will be too!! Classes will be set aside as students walk 15 laps (about 5 miles) in support of Penn View. Donation are still being accepted! We are expecting a great turnout and a good time this Friday!

Western Civilization Washington D.C. Trip

103_1493.JPG

As part of a class assignment, students in the western civilization history class must take a class field trip to a historical location.  This field trip was located in Washington D.C.

Since this semester’s class is a smaller one, they opened the opportunity for other students to go.  In total, about 25 students went.  We had the opportunity to tour parts of the Capitol building and we went to the Arlington National Cemetary.   All in all, it was a very interesting day! We are blessed to be so close to so many interesting historical sites within close proximity.  Not only was it an interesting day, it was a lot of fun!!!

Fall Revival

We Praise the Lord for a wonderful Fall revival! Bro. & Sis. Case did such a wonderful job singing! We thoroughly enjoyed having them all week! We especially enjoyed Bro. Case’s spirit led preaching.  Many spiritual victories were won! Praise the Lord for the wonderful spirit of prayer felt among the campus and the times of seeking around the altar.  God met many needs! To God be the glory!!  We are trusting him to continue a wonderful work and start a powerful revival at Penn View! img_1885.JPG

Hunting Has BEGUN!

Bow Season began here in Pennsylvania on Saturday, October 3.  Dustin Durkee made us all proud with the very first kill of the season (for the campus)! Dustin shot this five point buck on Saturday morning.  It is the first buck he has ever gotten! We are so happy for him! Way to go Dustin!! :) 101_8932.JPG

Intramurals

This past season intramurals were exciting! The Volleyball and softball championship winners were Alan Goodrich’s team! Congratulations guys!   Special thanks to Matt Maloyed and Dan Durkee for being available to ref! Thanks to Steve Davis  for heading up Intramurals! Thanks Coaches Hobart, Mowery, Goodrich and Snyder!

This year, the championship games were held at Shade Mountain.  Andrew Hobart and Alan Goodrich’s team squared off in the big Championship softball game. As mentioned before, Alan Goodrich’s team came away with the victory.

The stars vs. stiffs game was also played.  It always seems as if the stiffs win! This year was no exception! The stiffs won 16 to 13.  Doug Rine dazzled  on the mound with his astounding pitching ability as Matthew Kratz hit a three run homer.  Matthew Maloyed finished it off nicely with a nice catch! Way to go stiffs!!

A good time was had by all and I know that everyone is excited for intramurals to begin again!! dsc04275.JPG

Revival Services

It is amazing how God come and fills the desires of the heart of his children! Yesterday in Chapel, students stood to their feet testifying to the fact that they wanted to feel God in a powerful way in their lives.  They didn’t want to experience the God of the past, but the God of the present and the God of the future.  The Holy Spirit has been sweetly meeting with us in our services and speaking to the hearts of individuals. We are excited to see what God has for Penn View this week!!
